What is a Shrub?
A Shrub is a traditional drinking vinegar, dating back to 17th century England when vinegar was used to preserve fruits and berries in a beverage that settled the stomach. The practice carried over to Colonial America.  Today, increased interest in natural beverages, immune support, and gut health has caused shrub to regain popularity.

What’s In Sweet’s Elderberry Shrub?

Sweet’s Shrub, created in collaboration with Jamie Swofford of Old North Shrub, contains elderberry and apple cider vinegar, lightly sweetened with raw cane sugar and warmed with fresh ginger.  Every ingredient is organic.  You’ll notice this product has a verified supplement label, detailing its health potency:

• Elderberry: 1,450 mg per tablespoon (that’s huge!)
• Apple Cider Vinegar: 4,075 mg per tablespoon
• Ginger:  96 mg per tablespoon

How Do You Use A Shrub?

Elevate a drink by adding 1 part Sweet’s Shrub to 4 parts of a beverage.  Combine with sparkling water or seltzer for a natural alternative to soda.  Craft a fantastic cocktail or mocktail using Sweet’s Shrub as a mixer.  Or, get creative in the kitchen!  Sweet’s Elderberry Shrub is shelf-stable and has a sell-by date one year from date of production.  Shrub should be refrigerated after opening.
